Binghamton police are seeking suspects in connection with a shooting on the city's West Side.

A man reportedly was shot in the arm on St. John Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Marked police units and city detectives rushed to the scene, which was located on the east side of St. John Avenue between Leroy Street and Seminary Avenue.

Binghamton police chief Joseph Zikuski conferred with officers and investigators shortly after the shooting.

Zikuski declined to discuss the incident as he left the scene but he did say it did not appear to be related to other recent shootings in Binghamton.

The shooting occurred just around the corner from two popular West Side businesses - The Beef Restaurant and the Leroy Package Store.

Binghamton detectives have been investigating shooting incidents that officials have indicated may be gang-related.
