Kids Arrested After State Police Receive Food Orders

A 12-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy face charges after state police received several phone calls from someone trying to order food.

Authorities say the New York State Police communications desk in Oneida received multiple calls from a boy attempting to place a food order around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

A short time later, the police received another call from the same phone number. A girl requested help because her mother was on the floor. That was followed by a scream before the caller hung up.

Investigators later determined the youths had been prank calling the state police office.

The children who live in Taberg were charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident, a misdemeanor. They were issued appearance tickets for Oneida County Family Court.
