There’s major curiosity out there (from me, I’m talking about myself here) about Jordan Peele’s follow-up to Get Out, his hugely successful and critically acclaimed feature directorial debut. We already knew that Peele was working on a movie called Us, and we knew that Lupita Nyong’o and Elisabeth Moss from The Handmaid’s Tale were its stars. That was about all we knew until today — as /Film reports they have acquired the official synopsis for the movie.

This, they claim, is what is being sent out with “recent test screening invites”:

A mother (Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o from Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and 12 Years a Slave) and a father (Winston Duke from Black Panther) take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (including Emmy winner Elizabeth Moss from TV series The Handmaid’s Tale). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited.

So it’s basically a reverse Get Out where the main characters are the ones in the house, and then other people show up to their house and the night descends into madness and bloodshed. What brings these visitors to the house and why we don’t know. And it doesn’t quite explain why it’s called Us, so that secret will remain for another day as well.

Us opens in theaters on March 15, 2019.
