How to Actually Tell Your Facebook Got Hacked

It seems like the last two weeks EVERYONE'S Facebook has been getting hacked, or so it seems.

We've all seen the "I don't have a second account, please don't accept my friend request," or the "please forward this message to all your friends" message.

This stream and influx of these hacker messages have prompted people to actually check to see if the hacking of their Facebook is true.

According to CBS News, hackers can access your Facebook in multiple different ways. Automatic logins through your Facebook can allow them to access a multitude of sites, and access your following.

CBS News say it is extremely easy to check if your account has been hacked:

If you worry that your account has been hacked, there is a simple way to check. Go to the arrow in the upper left-hand corner of your Facebook page and click on it. In the menu, select Settings. A new menu will pop up. Choose Security and then Where You're Logged In.

If there is a login or location you are not familiar with or do not recognize simply click "End Activity." This will temporarily log the hacker out of your account.

Once you "End Activity":

Go to the Facebook help page, click on I think my account was hacked or someone is using it without my permission, and then click on secure it. Facebook will take you to a page where you log in and then go about the steps to securing your account.

You can also tell if your Facebook account has been hacked by noticing some weird changes or unfamiliar occurrences. Your name, birthday, email or password has been changed, someone sent out friend requests to people you don't know, messages have been sent from your account, but you didn't write them, and posts are appearing on your timeline that you didn't post are all tell tale signs you have been hacked.
