This weekend we get to turn the clocks back an hour and will have an extra hour to do whatever we want to! I know that I will probably use it to sleep. Bustle has come up with a few good ways to help you deal with the change.

  • Use the extra light to let your body wake up in the morning because starting Sunday, you will be waking up after the sun has already risen. The natural light will be a much less harsh wake-up than your alarm in the morning.
  • Don't hit snooze even if you really, really want to the extra five minutes of sleep. You will actually feel more exhausted than if you just get up when your alarm tells you to.
  • Drink something warm before bed such as tea or decaffeinated coffee as the warmth of the drink will help you ease into bed and help you feel more tired. Warm beverages can allow you to de-stress and calm you down to get ready for bed.

Whether you use that extra hour to sleep or play video games, preparing yourself for the new routine of the sun waking up before you do is important for your internal body clock.
