Federal prosecutors say three of the men accused of participating in an interstate child exploitation ring are awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to charges associated with the investigation into a internet child pornography operation allegedly headed by a Port Dickinson man.

38 year old Caleb Young of Olmsted Falls New York, 39 year old William Phillips of Highland, New York and 36 year old Oldell Ortega of Virginia Gardens, Florida pleaded guilty May 11.  The men could face at least 20 years in prison for child exploitation enterprise.

The participants in the group, calling themselves “hunters”, supposedly led by 39 year old Christian Maire, posed as teenagers online to convince girls to engage in sex acts.

Maire is also expected to plead guilty later this month.

The FBI said hundreds children from all over the country and Canada were believed to have been lured by the men who had to be referred for membership and used aliases as they participated.
