Pennsylvania State Police say a Gillett woman was not wearing a seat belt in a crash that claimed her life in Bradford County April 2.

Authorities say 27 year old Miriah Harkness was traveling on Berwick Pike in Smithfield Township at 8:02 a.m. when she lost control of her 2013 Nissan Rogue, left the road and hit an embankment.  Her car became airborne and hit a tree.

Troopers say Harkness, who was partially ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The authorities say the roadway was covered with snow at the time of the crash.
