It's hard to drag yourself to the gym everyday to work out, I get it! Bustle says that there are some everyday tasks that we do that can definitely count as exercise though, so you might be burning calories without even knowing it!

  • Going grocery shopping especially when you don't know what you're there for and are going down every aisle in the store. Carrying your basket full of items helps to engage your arm muscles, and bending down to pick up what you need works your legs!
  • Having sex can definitely count as exercise if you and your partner are breaking a sweat doing the deed. While this shouldn't be the excuse not to go to the gym, it can certainly count as a work-out session say, if you got snowed in over the weekend.
  • Doing the laundry is considered a light exercise with you hauling the basket full of dirty clothes down into the basement, moving them from the washer to the dryer and then eventually folding them all and putting them away. That's a lot of work, and why I usually go days between drying my clothes and actually folding them. Phew!

It's great to move around the house and get your steps in, but if you can make it to the gym or take a walk outside, that is definitely a great added bonus to your health.
