Police arrested a man after someone started firing BBs at officers on an Endicott street.

Authorities say the incident occurred on South Duane Avenue Monday afternoon.

Police officers called for assistance around 2:30 p.m. when they encountered the BB shots on the street just south of the railroad tracks.

Police Chief Patrick Garey said no injuries were reported and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Garey said Angel Rohena was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree reckless endangerment. He said Rohena was accused of illegally possessing a rifle. The weapon possession count is a felony.

The 47-year-old Rohena was arraigned and sent to Broome County Jail. According to records at the jail, Rohena also is accused of a parole violation.
