A Chenango Forks man is charged with drunk driving following a crash on Route 7B and Depot Hill Road in Port Crane at 3:38 a.m. September 1.

Broome County Sheriff’s officials accuse 60 year old Frank Griffith of driving with a blood alcohol level at almost twice the legal limit.

Authorities say they got a report of a red pickup truck traveling in a reckless manner in the Town of Fenton with the driver spinning his tires, peeling out and generally causing a disturbance.  Just before Deputies arrived, the pickup hit another vehicle traveling on Depot Hill Road.

There were no injuries but Griffith was arrested after performing poorly on field sobriety tests.  Deputies say they measured his BAC at .15%

He’s charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content at more than .08%, moving from a lane unsafely and driving an uninspected motor vehicle.

Griffith has been ordered to appear in Town of Fenton Court at a later date.
