Caleb Stewart's career milestone came with :18 left in the Binghamton Bearcats 78-66 win over the Maine Black Bears on Saturday afternoon at the Events Center. Stewart connected on a free throw to score his 24th point in the game and notch career point number one thousand. He joins teammate J.C.Show in the coveted one thousand point club. Show scored on a jump shot at Stony Brook to earn his entry into the milestone book.

Stewart was fouled after grabbing his eleventh rebound in the game. He had scored 23 points in the game to that point and with just :18 left in the contest it looked like he would have to wait until the Bearcats road game in Hartford on Wednesday for another chance. To add to the drama he went to the foul line for two shots. His first missed. But his second was clean and gave him 24 points in the game and one thousand for his career.

As it turned out he went back to the foul line for two more chances before the game ended and he finished with a game-high 26 points and 1,002 points

for his career. 26 points also is a career high for Stewart and with 11 rebounds in the game it was his second consecutive double-double.

Stewart will lead the Bearcats into West Hartford on Wednesday night for a road game against the Hartford Hawks. Tipoff is set for 7:00 P.M with airtime at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
