A new use is being sought for a Binghamton property that's been home to a supermarket and a drug store.

CVS closed its pharmacy and convenience store at 68 Main Street last week. The company had operated at the site for nearly 37 years.

Before CVS moved in, the building had housed a Grand Union food store for several years.

In the days since the CVS store closed, the parking lot has been filled with several cars and trucks as workers finish removing merchandise and fixtures from the building.

Kradjian Properties of Binghamton has erected a sign indicating the property is available. The building has about 10,800 square feet of space and a parking lot with spaces for a few dozen vehicles.

Brian Kradjian could not be reached to discuss what may happen to the site.

Signs in the doors indicated prescription records had been transferred to a CVS store on Court Street.

CVS has not responded to requests for information about the future of its stores in the Binghamton area.
