The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team continues to prepare for a new basketball season.  The Bearcats will play an exhibition game against Bloomsburg University at the Events Center on Tuesday, October 30th at 7:00 P.M. (6:45 air on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  The first game of the regular season is scheduled for Tuesday, November 6th at home against the University of Charleston.

New coach Bethann Shapiro Ord takes over a team that won 20 games last season including a win over Youngstown State University in the Women's Basketball Invitational.    Ord takes over for Linda Cimino who has moved on to take over the reins at St. Francis of New York.

Gone are America East Player of the Year Imani Watkins and America East Defender of the Year Alyssa James. Returning to lead the 2018-19 Bearcats are senior starter Rebecca Carmody and junior starter Kai Moon.  Carmody started 29 out of 32  and was fifth in America East in rebounding averaging 6.8 boards per game.  Moon started 31 games and was a Third Team America East selection.
