Broome County is cautioning motorists that the 2018 road construction season is underway.

The County is repairing more than 38 miles of roadway, including paving, ditching, crack seal replacement and mowing.

Work this May 21-25 is on Upper Lisle Road in Triangle, Smith Hill, Hunts Corner and Beartown Roads and mowing through the County.  Paving is being done this week on Pennsylvania Avenue (also known as Hawleyton Road) and Quaker Lake Road in the Town of Binghamton.

The County Public Works-Highway Division May 25 will also be replacing a large cross-road culvert just north of the fire station on Taft Avenue in the Town of Union.  Taft Avenue will be closed while the work is done.  Officials say detours will be in place and electric message boards have already been deployed to warn motorists of the upcoming work.
