The Binghamton Economic Development Office has emailed business owners asking their cooperation in easing parking issues by not leaving their company or employee vehicles parked all day in the two-hour spots on the streets. The letter says two-hour and overnight parking regulation enforcement is being stepped up.

Economic Development Director Bob Murphy says the two hour spots should only be used by businesses for loading and unloading to provide the customers of downtown retail and restaurant handy parking spaces.  He asks that businesses and their employees to use the parking ramps for long-term parking instead.

The letter also urges property owners and businesses to clean their sidewalks.  City code requires snow or ice to be removed by the property owner within 24 hours after the end of a snowstorm.
