The weather is getting colder, and I've had to already clean frost off my car! As we find ourselves getting closer to winter, it would be good to prepare for the inevitable blues that come along with being cooped up inside when it's too cold to be outside as often as we'd like to be.

  • Continue to make plans with friends and family even though the thought of getting in your car and waiting for it to heat up is probably the worst feeling in the world at the time. You'll feel good that you got out of the house and had a couple laughs with people that you care about.
  • Find an exercise that you like and try to do it as often as you can. You're not outside moving around like you normally do in the warmer months, so try to move your body inside to keep the blood flowing and the endorphins making you feel good.
  • Eat healthy, fresh food because consuming nutritious food can help you feel good even when the weather outside is less than ideal. A veggie soup or stew can warm you up and help you get all the nutrients that your body needs.

We can't avoid the cold months in Binghamton, but we can try to avoid the blues that come along with it. Combat those feelings and soon enough, it'll be getting warmer once again.
