This show is ADORABLE--and it’s filming near Binghamton.

The Marvelous Mrs Maisel is an Amazon original series about a loudmouthed housewife who basically stumbles into a career as a stand-up comedian--at least that’s what I’ve gathered from the first few episodes.

The show is light, fun, witty; it was perfect for a weekend I was stuck at home sick. Not only are they going to be filming in Deposit--but they’re holding a casting call for extras on April 28th at The Forum.

Here’s the info from their release:

The second season of the Amazon series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Golden Globe winner for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy, will be filming in Deposit, NY in June 2018. New York City-based Grant Wilfley Casting, Inc. is now seeking locals to appear as extras in the series.

Grant Wilfley Casting is specifically seeking people who have a 1950s period look to portray guests at a Catskills type resort.

"We would love to find local talent to work in scenes filming in their own area,” said Grant Wilfley, president of Grant Wilfley Casting, Inc. “Especially since Binghamton is actually my hometown.” The series, from the creators of The Gilmore Girls, takes place in the late 1950s, and is set to film June 18-29 in Deposit, NY.

An open casting call will be held on Saturday, April 28 from 11a-4p at Broome County Forum Theatre, 236 Washington St, Binghamton, NY 13901. Anyone who cannot attend the open call but is interested in appearing in the show should email a recent picture, height, weight, and clothing sizes, and contact information to tmmm@gwcnyc.com.
